Since the very ancient times of the puranik period and exalted in praise in
Vedas and
Puranas, the township of Haridwar is situated in the valley between the foot of
Nilgiri Mountains and Shivalik Hills and on the banks of the Great Redeemer Ganga River (The Ganges). It has been the greatest pilgrimage of deeply religious hindus. As is evident the very name of Haridwar suggests the “Entrance Gate to the paths leading to the lost sacred and renowned Dhamas (Abodes) of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri in the region of Gadwal.
